Two weeks ago was released the new build of Windows 10 for PC, while the edition for mobile had been delayed. Here is that finally points the tip of his nose, and that ahead of the PC version in terms of numbering ... Because the PC edition is delayed.
The beta 14977 of Windows 10 Mobile is output. Once installed, we take advantage of some interesting news, not just a bunch of patches. The new edition of Windows 10 Mobile supports the EPUB format within the Microsoft Edge browser, a feature already introduced in the beta 14971 of Windows 10 for PC. For the record, the EPUB allows to consult books on platforms like Open Library, Feedbooks or Project Gutenberg. Many are free, but this is not always the case (on Feedbooks, in particular). It is possible to mark a page of a favorite, to choose from 3 display themes (dark, bright or sepia), and to search the document directly accessed from the browser.
At the same time, Microsoft has also changed the rendering of Universal Windows Platform (UWP) applications, improved interaction between Cortana and third-party applications, and made some changes to the operating system notifications bar. The French translation engine has been improved and, of course, many patches have been applied (in particular with regard to the Photo application and the Action and Notification Center). To download this new version, it is as usual to register with the Windows Insider program, which is totally free. Once you have done this, go to Device Settings, and then search for updates. Make sure you have activated the Fast Ring mode for receiving updates.
As for the release of the PC version of the new build Windows 10, it will wait a little: Microsoft explains indeed on his blog that a bug preventing applications from running was discovered in the latest beta of the OS. See you next week, then.
