Instagram reaches 600 million monthly users

Instagram has once again enlarged his community. The application has indeed broken the bar of 600 million active monthly users. The year 2016 was good for Instagram, which continued to increase its number of users.

In 2012, when Facebook buys Instagram, the social network counts then that 30 million users. Facebook has thus succeeded in betting on the application that is now ahead of other competitors. The growth of Instagram accelerated sharply during the second half of this year. Indeed, over the last six months, Instagram has gained more than 100 million users.

One of the reasons for this success is the addition of new features and new updates. In recent months, Instagram has installed many new features largely inspired by Snapchat which not only kept users but also recruited them. In August, Instagram launched the Stories used today by 100 million users per day. The latest innovation was the arrival of live ephemeral videos.

With 600 million users per month, Instagram is ahead of Twitter (317 million) and Snapchat (150 million). Facebook remains on the first step with its 1.71 billion users.
