Early exit for LG G6

Early exit for LG G6

With the G5 release having had an impact and success below expectations, many are wondering what LG is preparing for its flagship product of 2017. Last year the G5 was announced at the MWC (Mobile World Congress). This year it seems that Samsung will not be present at the convention due to delay on the S8. An opportunity for LG that as well, should not remain in the shadow of its competitor.

As a result, LG may be headed for a faster than expected G6 exit. A Korean media, ETNews, says that LG would target a much faster release than last year's model launched in early April in the US. And at the Korean firm one would activate to advance the exit as much as possible. Objective: to grill priority to Samsung and have a flagship on the market before the main competitor.

The best scenario for LG?

LG could therefore announce its new standard bearer at the MWC in late February and then market it very soon after. Or, why not an announcement, without going through the MWC box, at a special LG event organized for the occasion. It is an interesting window of opportunity that is emerging for LG with the delay of the S8, the degraded image of Samsung, and sales a little stagnant of the iPhone. With these conditions and appropriate marketing choices, 2017 could be far more promising than 2016 for LG Electronics.

To talk a bit more about the smartphone by itself, it should adopt a whole new design. The rumor announces resistance to water, a wireless charge, and sometimes even an Iris scanner. To be confirmed very quickly. The Mobile World Congress will take place in Barcelona from 27 February to 2 March. The supposed absence of the giant Samsung should allow others to stand out a little more, to see if LG will benefit fully.
