Some six months after its release, BitTorrent Live finally opens for iOS. Since its launch BitTorrent Live was already available on Fire TV or Apple TV.
Initially announced for June 2016, the application finally releases on mobile platform iPhone and other iPad.
Despite the fact that by the application does not shine for the moment by its number of channels (rather reduced), it is rather the technology used and the way in which the content transits is most interesting. With a latency of less than 10 seconds, the viewer is also a broadcaster. This multi channel service allows you to watch live video content with the most impressive throughput. Inspired by the efficiency of peer-to-peer torrent transfer, each viewer becomes a content distributor, allowing for a wider distribution of content and offering much lower latency.
With its peer to peer streaming protocol, BitTorrent Live aims to reach a wider audience by delivering content that is always stable without even needing to spend on network infrastructures that would be too costly. It is now necessary that the company is trying to add more channels because even with the fastest streaming systems a video platform without programs is not likely to be popular long.
The BitTorrent Live iOS application is available now on the App Store.
