Nintendo Switch: no virtual reality but full HD in portable mode

Nintendo Switch: no virtual reality but full HD in portable mode

While awaiting the official presentation of the Switch, at an event scheduled for January 12, 2017, rumors multiply.
Recently, Takashi Mochizuki, an editor with the Wall Street Journal, shared the information he obtained from his sources. They contradict the rumor of virtual reality but confirm the Full HD resolution in portable mode.

Virtual reality would remain at the patent stage

Nintendo Switch patents can be found on the NeoGAF forum. According to the available images, the central part of the console would slip into a dedicated headset to boost the display of a virtual environment. Yet, Takashi's contacts feel that this functionality is not yet on the agenda. Even if its competitors accelerate their efforts in this direction, the Japanese firm would not yet propose a product destined for this niche.

As for the display, information relayed by the journalist confirm the announcement of the site Let's Play Video Games. Thus, players would enjoy full HD resolution while on the move and when the console is connected to a TV, the definition would reach a WQHD format. In addition, the internal bus speed of the Nintendo Switch would reach 5 GB / s, a big improvement compared to the 128 MB / s of the 3DS. Finally, this console would be suitable for games designed on the principle of an open world such as Skyrim and it would have a USB-C port.
