The foldable screen is becoming the next must-have in the smartphone sector. LG thus joins Samsung in the race for folding screens.
The Korean company has made significant progress in its technology to the point of being the next supplier to Apple, Google and Microsoft.
LG plans to produce its mass-folding screen by 2018. Its first customers would be Apple, Google and Microsoft. Apple could appeal to LG for its future iPhone while Microsoft would be more interested in the foldable screen for its shelves.
Meanwhile in 2018, Samsung will be the first major manufacturer of foldable displays with notably its next smartphone that should be released next year.
