Amazon officially began its home delivery service by drone. Prime Air made its first delivery by drone on 7 December in Cambridge. This first trial was a total success and Amazon already expects new deliveries.
The first delivery took place last week in Cambridge, England. Amazon that owns a warehouse in the same city put exactly 13 minutes only to deliver the package. They were two customers to order via Amazon Prime Air and lived very close to the warehouse.
Customers can use 7 days / 7 drone delivery during day hours as long as weather permits. Unlike the United States where drones are required to be driven by sight, Amazon's drones in England are fully automated.
Following this first successful delivery, Amazon plans to expand to a dozen additional customers and then a hundred in the future.
