Two Huawei smartphones receive the Android update Nougat before time. The manufacturer decided to be a little ahead of its initial schedule.
Very recently, Huawei has specified the deployment of the Android 7.0 Nougat update on its smartphones. The kick-off was to be given in the first half of 2017, with the Mate 8 and P9 models to open the ball.
But now users in China say they receive notifications for the OTA installation of this famous update. No beta grind however, as one might imagine at first glance. It is indeed a finalized version (stamped B552 for the Mate 8 and B352 for the P9).
It seems that the Chinese manufacturer wanted to accelerate things on its own market, probably because the competition is intense and to be reactive in terms of updates. The deployment in other markets such as ours should therefore remain planned for early 2017, which would allow us to arrive after a full-scale test and avoid potential bugs.
