Facebook patents a tool that helps combat false information

Since the election of Trump, Facebook has made the fight against false information a real priority. While the company said it was working on solutions, it may have already found ways to solve the problem. Facebook has recently filed a patent for a tool that would eradicate this evil from which it suffers.

According to sources, Facebook has sought a patent for a technology it has been developing since 2015. This technology would automatically remove any hate speech and any content referring to pornography. But this tool could also be used against the false information that is currently ravaging on the social network.

This technology would be based on algorithms and learning. The system will rely on data such as the age of the account owner or the number of people who reported content to determine whether the publication is objectionable or not.

For now, it is only a patent and it is not yet known if Facebook will actually set it up. However, this information proves that the most used social network in the world works and seeks many solutions against false information.
