Samsung devrait payer 120 millions de dollars à Apple

Bad news for Samsung the company is very close to being forced to pay about $ 120 million in damages to Apple after the US Court dismissed the company's appeal from South Korea.

The company has one more option before it has to pay

The rivalry between Samsung and Apple goes beyond the smartphone market, and more often than not, giants cross swords in courtrooms.

Companies are legendary and seem never to end. There are trials that go on for decades before a final decision is made and one of the parties is declared the winner. One of these trials received a verdict in 2014, when the Apple and Samsung were found guilty of infringing patents on the other. However, while Apple claimed $ 2.2 billion in damages, the court ordered the South Korean company to pay $ 119.6 million in damages for infringement of three Apple patents. On the other hand, Apple was found guilty of infringing a Samsung patent and sentenced to pay $ 158,400 in damages. Note the large difference between the amounts that companies have to pay each other.

Reverse the reversal

Anyway, Samsung filed an appeal that obtained the reversed verdict in its favor early this year. But Apple disagreed and once again moved for a court review, which reversed the overthrow and ruled, again, in favor of Apple, thus restoring the $ 119,600,000 in damages. The South Korean company decided to move to the US Court of Appeals to try to get rid of the previous ruling, but the court denied. Now, Samsung has one more option before the decision becomes mandatory and the company has to pay the amount ordered. Basically, the Supreme Court is the latest defense wall for Samsung, the company hopes to reverse the decision in favor of Apple. It is expected that a verdict will be rendered by the Supreme Court in June next year, we will hear about this in the not-so-distant future.
