YouTube for iOS: the update adds the video command on the locked screen

YouTube has just discreetly launched a new update on iOS with version 12.03. This new version adds the video command on the locked screen, a feature already present on the Android app.

This new feature allows you to project YouTube videos on Chromecast devices, connected TVs or game consoles from your mobile even when the screen is locked.

Even if the screen of your iPhone or iPad is locked you will have access to the volume controls, play / pause, previous and next. You will no longer need to unlock your smartphone or tablet to remotely control YouTube. Note that this new feature can also be accessed on Apple Watch.

The functionality is not yet available in France but the deployment should be done gradually.
