Virtual reality is as fun as it is immersive, at least from the point of view of the user. Even if it is possible to share the virtual experience on a monitor or screen, these solutions experience the limitations of 2D. But this situation will change thanks to the work of the software development company Drew Gottlieb.
The firm has used the HoloLens from Microsoft and Vive from HTC. She connected the devices so that the HoloLens user could see what Vive is drawing through a 3D drawing application similar to Tilt Brush. The technology simply relies on Unity's network service. Once the HoloLens has been calibrated to follow the Vive controller, both devices are synchronized and both users are in a shared reality.
There is no limit to the number of HoloLens that can connect to the HTC device. Participants also have the ability to draw using motion detectors. The system is not yet perfect, but it opens the way to a collaborative experience in a shared reality.
