The new Boston Dynamics robot makes sacred jumps

The new Boston Dynamics robot makes sacred jumps

At a performance, Marc Raibert, the CEO of Boston Dynamics unveiled his biped robot called Handle. Unlike other prototypes, its feet end with wheels that allow it to move quickly.

But while this human carrier was considered a real failure, this video proves the opposite and reveals a robot performing. According to the company, the sequence was not intended to be published, but the fact remains that behind the scenes, the progress is flagrant.

Handle can move on smooth surfaces that offer low grip. It is ideal for working in a factory or warehouse where there are no rubble or debris. And as this video shows, Handle is still able to face some obstacles. It even jumps over a small wall.

The robot also has a self-balancing function. It thus transports heavy objects more efficiently, unlike other humanoid models. According to Raibert, the use of wheels reduces the cost of manufacturing and Handle will be more affordable than other Boston Dynamics bipedal robots.
