MWC 2017: Samsung introduces its new Gear VR headset and its Motion Control

Samsung has taken advantage of the MWC 2017, where the manufacturer has only broadcast a teaser of the future smartphone Galaxy S8, to present other products that should make a success in 2017 and in particular its new helmet Gear VR which this time includes A Motion Control remote control.

This headset, of course compatible with all its mobile products, is in some ways an improved copy of its latest version but the arrival of this remote control aims to reduce the number of interactions with the head. This remote control offers the same functions as the VR HTC Vive with its touchpad, 2 buttons, trigger and buttons to control the sound.

Characteristics identical to its predecessor!

Regarding its features, the Gear VR helmet with its Motion Control handle has the same dimensions as its predecessor (20.8 x 122.5 x 98.6 mm), weighs 345g and has a FoV (Field of View) of 101 °. It was designed to be compatible with the Galaxy S6, S7 and Note5 mobiles and their different versions as well as upcoming devices like the Galaxy S8 and others. To do this, an adapter is supplied with the headset to allow connection to a phone equipped with USB-C or MicroUSB ports.

Its price and date of release have not yet been revealed but all ready to think it will be positioned on the market to compete with other RV helmets of the same range.
