It's official, Whatsapp finally deploys dual authentication to all its users. After a beta phase, the final version is finally ready for more security.
Whatsapp had announced the dual authentication system in the fall of 2016. Since then, the feature was available to a few users in beta. In a time of increasingly numerous and sophisticated faults and malware, dual authentication becomes a necessity. It also keeps private conversations away from the curious.
Generally, double authentication involves securing your account in two steps instead of just one. In a first step, you enter your usual password and then you enter a code that you received on your smartphone. In the case of Whatsapp, the first step is when one checks his phone number. The second step is to enter a 6-digit code that you have chosen.
However, be careful not to forget this code so precious, because you may not be able to recheck your number before 7 days. To avoid having your account blocked, you are recommended to link an email address from which you can disable the two-step verification.
If you do not yet have the functionality available in your settings, do not worry, it is being deployed for its Android, iOS and Windows users.
