Facebook: Video sound will now be activated by default

Facebook: Video sound will now be activated by default

Facebook has announced several changes regarding the videos on its mobile app. The main change is the sound of the default videos.

Until now, when watching its news feed, only video playback was activated by default. To listen to the sound of a video, you had to click on it. It will soon no longer be worth it since the sound of the videos will be automatically activated at the same time as their reading.

So be careful when you want to take a look at your news feed so you do not disturb the people around you. To unwind your news stream quietly it will be necessary to put your smartphone in silent mode or to disable the diffusion of the sound by default in the parameters of Facebook.

Facebook decided to make this change to improve the user experience with video content. As we know for a while, Facebook puts a lot on the video format. He wants to compete with the leader YouTube on this format and transform Facebook into the first destination for the creation and distribution of videos.

Not sure however that all users welcome the change. It will be necessary to take precautions for those who consult the application in class or at work.

Facebook also anticipates other changes such as better integration of vertical videos on Android and iOS as well as a picture-in-picture mode.
