While some companies are waiting for the Mobile World Congress (MWC) to promote their new products, Huawei has preferred to take a few weeks ahead of the Barcelona World Event to be held from 27 February to 2 March 2017.
The Chinese giant unveiled its mid-range smartphone Honor 8 Lite, a lighter version of its predecessor, Honor 8.
The novelty of Huawei shows elegance by adopting the design made of glass and metal of the previous version. But unlike Honor 8, this smartphone is lighter and wider. However, it will retain the fingerprint sensor.
Honor 8 Lite should have decent performance for a mid-range smartphone. It will carry an octa-core Kirin 655 processor and 3 GB of RAM while its predecessor benefited from Kirin 950 and 4 GB of RAM. But this model scores a point using Android 7.0 Nougat.
The 5.2-inch Full-HD screen (1.080 x 1.920) is covered by a 2.5D curved glass. The Honor 8 Lite will ship with a 12 megapixel camera back, and an 8 megapixel front camera. Huawei will start marketing the Honor 8 Lite in Finland on February 17 . But the other release dates have not yet been announced.
