Microsoft Authenticator adds support for Android and iOS smartphones

Microsoft Authenticator adds support for Android and iOS smartphones

About three weeks ago, Microsoft had updated the beta version of its Authenticator application for Android and iOS. This update aimed to add a new feature that is smartphone authentication. Microsoft has just enabled the feature on both Android and iOS.

Originally, Microsoft Authenticator was able to confirm its identity from its phone through the dual-authentication system by generating a password. The new feature simplifies this authentication process.

The application will now send a notification to your smartphone. It will suffice to validate this notification in order to be able to identify itself without having to return of passwords. In addition, without even unlocking your screen you will be able to access Authenticator directly.

The new functionality of the Microsoft application will be very convenient especially for connected watches. If the new identification system is available on Android and iOS smartphones, this is not yet the case for Windows smartphones.
