Surprising as it may be, McDonald's has developed a straw specially designed to drink some of its drinks.
The restaurant chain had been working on this project for a while. St. Patrick's Day is fast approaching and announces the arrival of the Shamrock Shake for MacDonald's. Not available in France, it is a mint milkshake sold at MacDonald's on St. Patrick's Day in the United States. This seasonal beverage, neon green, was first proposed in 1970.
This year, McDonald's USA offers a new flavor for its famous milk shake: the Chocolate Shamrock Shake. On this occasion, the company wanted to design a very special and more technical straw. McDonald's hired engineers who worked for Google and developed the STRAW. It is a hooked straw, with four holes. Straw "STRAW" has been designed to perfectly mix the mint and chocolate contained in the milk shake.
The special straw will be available in 80 US cities and will be limited to 2,000 units. It is unclear whether McDonald's plans to expand the product for other beverages and other markets.
