With the iPhone 8, Apple would begin to face recognition

The iPhone 8 would inaugurate a new technology of facial recognition, the first on an Apple product.

Timothy Arcuri, an analyst at Cowen Company, explains in a note that "other features seem to include some form of facial / gesture recognition, via a system of laser and infrared sensors installed near the front-end sensor. "

The acquisition of the company Emotient, bought by Apple in 2016, goes in this direction. She has developed advanced face recognition technology. It is thus able to detect different facial expressions in order to determine the mood of the subject.

Installed in the iPhone 8, facial recognition could give a new choice of unlocking to the user. Finally, Arcuri adds that the iPhone 8 "should also incorporate a wireless charging system. If this were not the case, it would still be time to take advantage of the induction load via the Lightning port, an efficient and discrete system already proposed by third-party manufacturers.
