Play-Doh Touch, the video game that gives life to modeling clay

Play-Doh Touch, the video game that gives life to modeling clay

Hasbro, the world leader in modeling clay with its Play-Doh brand, presented an exciting novelty at CES 2017. It is a video game called Play-Doh Touch, in which characters The screen are created from scratch from modeling clay and then scanned on a smartphone or tablet to come alive in the game.

The principle of Play-Doh Touch is therefore to offer a game in which all elements, from the characters to the scenery, can be created from real clay. For this, the game offers several options: use the molds sold by Hasbro, which allows to benefit from pre-recorded textures and animations, or simply leave free imagination. Once the creation is complete, simply place it on a white surface and scan it with the camera of the iPad via the application sold on the App Store. After a few seconds of analysis and calculations, the creation of modeling clay is integrated into the game, and can thus become a playable character, an element of the decor, or an object to be used to solve certain puzzles.

Concretely, Play-Doh Touch proposes a platform game not very complex nor too elaborate, but which abounds of good ideas, and which allows in particular to bring to life his craziest creations through the application. The Play-Doh Touch app is available for free on the App Store, but it will be necessary to reach the wallet to have access to all levels. The tray including several molds compatible with the game is, meanwhile, proposed for about forty dollars in the United States. Finally, note that there is an Android version, it also free to download.
