4:17, the ideal duration that must pass the teenagers in front of a screen

4:17 am, it is the ideal duration that a teenager should spend daily in front of a screen, according to a study by the University of Oxford, UK.
The study indicates that spending time in front of a screen could be beneficial to young people, provided they do not exceed the recommended 257 minutes.

The question of the time spent by young people in front of the screens, which multiply in the homes, is more and more debated. Should we let our children spend time in front of a computer or a tablet? Should we limit them? If so, how long? For the University of Oxford, there is little cause for concern about the effects of screens on the brains of teenagers: they would in fact have a beneficial effect on them. These benefits would be multiple and would include improved creativity, communication and development.

And they would continue up to 257 minutes of use, 4 hours and 17 minutes, beyond which the first adverse effects are first noticed. While these durations mostly involve the use of a computer, the study, which was conducted on 120,000 15-year-olds, notes that the recommended duration for a smartphone is two hours, when one Hour and forty minutes are sufficient for video games.
