Sony unveiled at the CES in Las Vegas the VPL-VZ1000ES, a 4K projector. The first element that marked the visitors is its exorbitant price, 25000 usd.
When looking at its data sheet, the device is also distinguished by its performance. It supports HDR formats and its brightness reaches 2500 lumens while current models peak at 2000. Thus, one can watch his favorite movies in the middle of the day, and without closing the curtains. This performance is explained by the use of a Z-Phospor laser system and the presence of SXRD panels.
The VPL-VZ1000ES projects a large image over a very short distance
With its black dress, this projector has a rather sober look. The camera measures 925 x 494 x 219 mm and weighs 35 kg. While placed at a distance of 15 centimeters from a wall, he would succeed in projecting an image fifteen times higher, or 2 m 50. For information, the maximum size is three meters. However, it is 40% smaller than the VPL-GTZ1. Pre-orders are now open, deliveries will start in April. With a price of 25,000 usd, the VPL-VZ1000ES is not given. Nevertheless, it should be emphasized that the previous generation, the Life Space UX, was still costing 40,000 usd.
