In the specialized institutions, the care of the elderly also involves activities such as reading, conversation and interaction with other members. However, these solutions are not continuous unlike ElliQ, the robot companion of Intuition Robotics.
According to the company, ElliQ aims to accompany the elderly while keeping them active and engaged over a long period of time. The less traditional design signed by the famous Yves Béhar is one of the main arguments of the company.
The robot will intelligently suggest digital content to its user, such as audio books, video exchanges, music, or even recommend physical activities that the user can do in the real world. ElliQ also embeds an artificial intelligence capable of memorizing user preferences and habits. The robot can even manage their appointments or their Facebook Messenger account so that they stay in touch with the members of their family.
For the time being, ElliQ is still testing at home for adults in San Francisco, with a view to launching in February 2017.
