How Intel intends to impose itself in supermarkets

How Intel intends to impose itself in supermarkets

After Amazon and its tail-less supermarkets, Intel is also challenging to change the way we consume. Intel would like to set up a system of sensors that would help us in the way we do our shopping.

The company plans to launch a system called Responsive Retail Platform. This system would work around a set of sensors and software. Intel's new technology would, among other things, never have an empty shelf or shelf. The system would especially help the store to track its stocks. Objective: that no consumer left empty-handed, without having found what he came to look for. In addition, the technology would also be able to verify if the product is displayed at the right selling price.

Intel plans to invest more than $ 100 million in this new project over the next five years. For the time being, the design and final rendering of this new project is still unknown. But the system would allow stores not only to have better tracking of their stocks, but also to have feedback on consumer behavior. Meanwhile, Intel is still testing its Tally robot in several North American stores. We can wait a while longer before seeing robots in our local supermarket.
