Airbar: and your MacBook Air became tactile ...

Already released in 2016, the Neonode AirBar is a small accessory that makes touch screen a screen. But until now, this one was only compatible with some devices running Windows ...

Good news: you will be able to use an AirBar specifically designed for the screen of the MacBook Air 13.3 inches. And this to the delight of all the fans of Apple who despaired of having a computer one day. This new AirBar was presented at CES 2017 in Las Vegas and will be available from March at a price of 99 dollars. Concretely, the principle of this AirBar for Mac is the same as for the PC. One difference: the bar that attaches to the bottom of the screen is silver color, close to that of the MacBook Air. It also plugs into a USB port to run. Finally, the device uses infrared technology to detect the position of your finger.

Unfortunately, the AirBar is only available for the MacBook Air and not the MacBook Pro, since it would cover the icons of the dashboard.

The tests seem rather satisfactory to the level of fluidity and the pleasant touch on the screen. Nevertheless, only one finger can be used. It is not possible, for example, to enlarge or reduce with two fingers, which is a widely used option on tactile devices.
