Galaxy Note 7: That was a battery problem!

Galaxy Note 7: That was a battery problem!

As announced a few days ago, Samsung has just returned the result of its investigation concerning the Galaxy Note 7. And as one would expect, the battery is the only one responsible for the galleys encountered by the smartphone.

It was that night that Samsung held its big press conference relating to the Galaxy Note 7. From the beginning, many experts suspected a battery problem, phenomenon that has just confirmed the Korean giant. To find the cause of the implosion problem that has been the victim of many devices, Samsung has assembled a team of 700 engineers. They tested 200,000 copies of Note 7 and 30,000 batteries, and to complete its research, Samsung also appealed to three external companies. And the verdict is without appeal (but without further clarification either): it is the battery that is solely responsible for the troubles encountered by Note 7.

For the record, the Galaxy Note 7, which suddenly ignited (sometimes even causing an implosion), was withdrawn from circulation as early as last September, even though its commercialization in Europe began. But too late: the device was already on sale in the United States and in Asian countries for about 3 weeks. Samsung had to beat the recall and repatriate all models already sold, in exchange for a refund or other model of the brand. Samsung said that 96% of Note 7 were returned by their owners, out of the 3 million sold. So there are still 120,000 devices in the wild.

Samsung is also trying to reassure consumers by saying that new protocols are now in place. The batteries will now undergo and pass a series of 8 tests. The Korean giant also argues that its batteries will have a new hardware design and increased software protection. It remains to be seen whether all these measures will help to re-brand the branding of the brand, largely dehorned by what is considered one of the big flops in the history of high-tech.
