Google launches "Instant Tethering": Single sign-on for all Android devices

A new feature has been introduced in the Google Play services update. Named "Instant Tethering", this feature ensures that all of its Android devices remain connected. It was Android Police that would first spotted the addition of this new feature.
With Instant Tethering, it is possible to automatically create a single Wi-Fi point on all Android devices in the same environment. Of course, the different devices have to be connected to each other with the same Google account.

Thus, our tablet for example will be automatically connected to the hotspot of our smartphone. This will emit a "tethering" signal to which the other Android device will connect without internet coverage. Google is just beginning to deploy its new feature. For now, "Instant Tethering" will only be available on Google, Pixel and Nexus smartphones. The compatible tablets are the Pixel C and Nexus 9. However, according to Google, the new feature should deploy on more Android devices fairly quickly.
