Seagate has unveiled a new accessory for Xbox One: an external SSD that connects to the USB port of the console. The latter will have the opportunity to support the integrated hard drive to the console, but will be limited to 512 GB.
If the Xbox One comes with an internal hard drive, 500 GB and 2 GB depending on the edition, Microsoft has however no plans for users who wish to change the hard drive to install a larger. The only option is therefore to use an external hard drive, and it is exactly what Seagate offers, announcing an official product stamped with the Xbox 512 GB SSD to plug in USB 3.0. The manufacturer and promises speeds up to 440 MB / s, but does not hide that its limited storage disk will store a couple of games. Players who are looking for more storage will have to turn to other tray hard drive-based solutions.
Especially as the price of the SSD may make them think before they equip: 309 USD to acquire the new manufacturer of external disk, almost the price of a new console. However, it is one of the only solutions that take advantage of the speed of an SSD on an Xbox One, speed as Seagate promises as noticeable on recent titles like Forza Horizon 3 or Gears of War 4.
