At the Electronica show in Munich, Sub1 Reloaded, a robot designed by the German company Infineon Technologies, solved a six-sided Rubik Cube in only 0.637 s, thus erasing tablets the old time set by Sub1 (0.887 S). However, this new brand has not been validated by the Guinness of Records.
Infineon presents its latest inventions at Electronica
When it comes to solving a mathematical problem, robots are stronger than humans and Infineon Technologies provides new evidence for this. Currently, the world record in this matter belongs to Lucas Etter, a 15-year-old American. The resolution of a six-sided Rubik's Cube took 4.9 seconds. In other words, "Sub1 Reloaded" is seven times faster.
Even if this performance is not yet officially recognized, the German firm has succeeded a nice blow of advertising on the qualities of its products. Indeed, the machine uses chips manufactured by the company and it takes advantage of this feat to highlight the capabilities of its mini computer, AURIX.
Infineon Technologies is one of the largest semiconductor producers in the world. According to the latest available figures, its turnover exceeded the 5 billion euro mark in 2015.
