Whatsapp has just launched a new update that finally integrates video calls with the email application. For several months, many users have been waiting for this new feature. After adding a two-step identification procedure last week, Whatsapp finally aligns with its competitors.
The instant messaging application has just caught up with competitors like Skype or Facebook Messenger who already offered video chats. The new feature is deployed today on Android and iOS.
The interface is nothing revolutionary and remains similar to what FaceTime, Skype and Google Duo offer. The system remains very intuitive, just choose a contact and then select the small icon in the top right camera. The two faces appear on the screen of which a smaller window with some features at the bottom that allow to change the direction of the camera for example.
Released in 2009, Whatsapp will have waited four years to integrate video chats with its application. For the moment, the first returns seem to confirm the good quality of the calls.
