In 2009, Facebook was banned from Chinese territory. Since then, the company has never
stopped looking for a way to integrate the market again.
According to the New York Times, Facebook would be working on a technology that would adapt to the Chinese censorship policy.
However, it seems that this new technology creates a lot of debates within Facebook itself. The new tool would allow, among other things, a third party to prevent publications from appearing in the news feed. This would be for Facebook a second chance to occupy the Chinese market which represents a large population.
Facebook, which had recently faced accusations about the dissemination of false information, said it wanted to provide its users with a variety of information. This new tool of censorship seems to be in total opposition to this statement. A Facebook person nevertheless clarified that no decision had yet been taken regarding their approach to China.
