Windows 10 Build 15046: Microsoft releases new beta

Windows 10 Build 15046: Microsoft releases new beta

Less than a week ago was released Windows 10 Build 15042, a pre-release of Creators Update. The developers of Microsoft have obviously decided to spend the fifth and to release even more frequently new beta, since the Build 15046 has just landed. What's new in this edition? Here is a short tour.

Although there is no major innovation in this edition, it is nevertheless noted that Microsoft officially presents this function which "controls the type of application that can be installed". We talked about it yesterday, this option (which is not activated by default, let's remember it) makes it possible to prohibit the installation of applications that do not come from the Windows Store. In other words, all Win32 software is banned. A function that could prove very useful in business or to better control the PC of its children, for example.

Another novelty: Windows Defender now has its own icon in the notification center, which allows you to see the protection status of the PC and launch the application with a single click.

Also note that the Cortana search bar retrieves its color. Moreover, it is now possible to resume the voice assistant where it had been left. Specifically, Cortana is now proactively presenting Microsoft Edge applications, files, and sites. This function is unfortunately only available in English at the moment. Finally, Microsoft announces that it has improved overall the translation within the OS.

This new edition also sees the correction of an impressive number of bugs, the list of which can be consulted on the blog of Microsoft. Note that this pre-release is for hybrid computers and tablets only. There is no Build for smartphones yet. As usual, all these innovations will be integrated in the Creators Update of Windows 10 which will be released in April (an RTM is expected in March). Finally, at the same time, Microsoft released the ISO files of the previous Build, released last week. You can download them officially from the Microsoft website.
