Gmail on Android allows sending and receiving money for its US users. The functionality was so far available on the online version.
For about 6 years, Google Wallet is available in the US on the online version of Gmail. It took all this time to finally see the integration of Google Wallet on mobile.
Now users can make transactions from their smartphones by sending an email. The process is as simple as sending an attachment. All you just need to do is tap the "attachment" icon and click on "Send Money". After entering the exact amount, the payment will be transferred directly to your contact's bank account.
The transfer of money via Gmail Android is completely free for both the recipient and the recipient. Both users must of course have linked their bank accounts to their Gmail accounts. The new feature is available for Android users only in the US. It is unclear whether it will ever be deployed on the European market.
