The connected Gameband watch comes with titles like Terraria or Pong on its 1.63 inch touch screen (320 pixels x 320 pixels).
The device runs on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1 and has a MicroSD slot that can hold up to 256 GB of games. Even if the AMOLED screen is rather limited, nostalgic will probably appreciate to find on the wrist the titles that marked the tender years of video games.
Founded by Feargal Mac Conuladh, Gameband is thus an affordable alternative to current smartwatch like the Apple Watch or the Samsung Gear S3. Its price remains under the 200 $ bar while the data sheet is well stocked. The device features a Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor, 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage. On the connectivity side, Gameband allows music playback or notifications display via Bluetooth 4.2.
The gadget is a Kickstarter project that has already raised $ 287,000. So it looks promising because the initial target was $ 75,000. After pre-orders, the first expedition should take place in September.
