The apple brand is known for its culture of secrecy. In the repair of its iPhone, it retains the same state of mind. The company thus strongly opposed the bill on the "right to reparation by third parties" that the State of Nebraska has recently adopted.
The document could force it to share manuals, parts and specialized machines like the one used for calibrating iPhone. While awaiting the outcome of the case, the Motherboard site recently published a photo of one of these mysterious calibration devices.
The model would be used to repair the screen, calibrate and adjust the Touch ID sensor according to AppleInsider. Each operation would therefore go through the change of the identifier via a computer connected to Apple's server and to the machine. According to AppleInsider, the picture would show an old model since the current devices would be more autonomous with a protective case. Information that a former operator seems to confirm by delivering some interesting details on the machine.
"Bizarre liquids must be introduced into the machine, we must wear gloves to use them, it has a lot of valves and other things going beyond it. It really looks like a garage do-it-yourself, "he says. The design was very far from Apple's current style.
