Nintendo confirms Switch version of Super Smash Bros

Nintendo confirms Switch version of Super Smash Bros

If Nintendo has already released Zelda and planned Mario Kart and Super Mario games by the end of the year, another major license from the manufacturer has still not been announced: Super Smash Bros. Finally, the publisher has confirmed this Thursday the arrival of a version on Nintendo Switch.

In an interview with Katie Linendoll on Facebook Live on Thursday, Reggie Fils-Aimé, president of the US division of Nintendo, confirmed that the Switch would welcome a new version of Super Smash Bros. "Smash is obviously one of our franchises that sells best. The philosophy behind Nintendo from the development point of view is that for each console we want at least one of our classic games. There will be a great Super Mario experience, there will be a great Zelda experience, so you can expect, at some point, that all of our franchises will come out. "

If one could expect Smash Bros to come out on the Switch after a particularly successful Wii U version, it was not necessarily obvious. Contrary to what Reggie Fils-Aimé said, the Wii U had not hosted a new episode of each of Nintendo's flagship franchises, at least until the last day. Originally planned for 2015, the new game Zelda was finally released last week on Wii U, along with Switch. Before that, the players had to wait with a simple HD remake of Wind Waker released in 2013.

No date has yet been announced for Smash Bros on Switch. In order to convince gamers to buy the console and third-party developers to publish games for its console, Nintendo has an interest in releasing its main games as soon as possible. So we could expect a release of the Nintendo fighting game in the course of next year.
