Samsung Galaxy Note 5: update with Grace UX of note 7

Samsung Galaxy Note 5: update with Grace UX of note 7

While Samsung is preparing Android 7.0 Nougat for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, another smartphone becomes a part of the update, the Galaxy Note 5.Apparently, Samsung has decided to wear the Note 7 UX Grace on the Galaxy Note 5, although this is not something that the South Korean company usually does.

The new update is available in South Korea only

The phone manufacturer provides major Android updates to its high-end smartphones, but it rarely includes new versions of its user interface as well as these updates. Normally, if you want your Samsung smartphone to run the latest version of the company's user interface, you usually switch to a more recent model. This makes the recent move to a curiosity and a nice surprise for those who still own the Galaxy Note 5. There is a catch, however, the update is available only in South Korea at the moment. The user forum XDA TokyoGuy, for example, decided to switch to a Galaxy Note 5 after the return of its Samsung Galaxy Note 7. After setting up the device, he noticed that the OTA began downloading.

All carriers in South Korea have already pushed this Galaxy Note 5 update into the country

The Galaxy Note 5 he got was running under Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow and had the security patch in August so he thought the update should bring the phone either the security patch October or November . However, the update is about 600 MB in size, so it could not be just a few security fixes, although the changelog did not mention anything else. After downloading and applying the update, he noticed that he now had Grace UX installed on his Galaxy Note 5, the new user interface introduced with the Galaxy Note 7 a few months ago. The update is a baseband version N920KKKU2CPI1 and build MMB29K.N920KKKU2CPJ4. Additionally, the kernel version has a build date of October 24th. Apparently, all carriers in South Korea have already pushed this Galaxy Note 5 update into the country, so it is just a matter of time until it will live around the world. It is also worth noting that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 is rumored to receive the Android 7.0 Nougat update next year.
