We can now chat on Skype without creating an account

Until now, it was imperative to create a Microsoft account to use Skype messaging services. This obligation is now obsolete: everyone can now discuss without any account being necessary.

To do this, log on to Skype.com and start a conversation. A simple pseudonym is needed, and the discussion can begin. Microsoft will provide you with a web address (https://join.skype.com/), which you can then send to your family or colleagues to join you in this temporary chat room. As a guest on the platform, your conversation is kept for 24 hours. Beyond that, you will have to register to discuss again. Unless, of course, create a new temporary account, as before.

If the service is for the moment rather rudimentary, Microsoft specifies that most of the functionalities of the classic software should soon be integrated into Skype.com. It will be possible to discuss in groups (up to 300 people), make audio or video calls (25 people), share their screen, etc. After the recent launch of its Teams service, Microsoft is continuing to offer tools to chat online. It remains that it will now be necessary to find in all these services, especially since the competition (Slack, Facebook Messenger ...) is increasingly tough.
