iPhone X: Apple denies having revised Face ID specifications down

Apple firmly denies it has lowered the specifications of the Face ID on the iPhone X. Yesterday, Bloomberg had indeed said that the US giant had revised its technology down to accelerate the production of the iPhone X.

Expected release on November 3, the iPhone X is much talked about in recent weeks. A delay in production and a stock problem would be at the heart of the discussions. The production of the iPhone X would indeed slow down because of the complexity of the Face ID. Facial recognition technology requires a component that emits 30,000 beams to analyze a face.

However, this component is out of stock at the Finisar supplier. The latter would take longer than expected to manufacture the component because of its complexity. According to Bloomberg, Apple would have asked its suppliers to slightly lower the specifics of the component to accelerate the production of its smartphone.

Apple did not wait to react. The company has indeed claimed that the statements made by Bloomberg are false. Apple ensures that the Face ID is always accurate and no component has been revised downward. The release also states that the probability that a person can unlock an iPhone with the Face ID is still 1 in 1 million.
