Daimler waves politeness to Tesla and reveals his electric heavyweight



Daimler, the German automaker that owns Mercedes yesterday revealed its electric heavyweight. Called E-Fuso Vision One, the machine should not be marketed for four years.


The first heavyweight Daimler is capable of carrying a load of up to 11 tonnes. Range autonomy, it can travel up to 350 kilometers with a single charge and is equipped with a battery of 300 kWh. However, it is for the moment a prototype and the figures in terms of autonomy and weight are likely to change on the final version.

With the E-Fuso Vision One, Daimler offers a light electric truck. It will mainly serve to transport goods over short distances between several cities. The truck is still in the testing phase and Daimler says it will not be marketed for four years. The manufacturer is targeting the European, American and Japanese markets.



This presentation comes a little before Tesla unveils its electric heavyweight. The US manufacturer was to unveil its truck this month, but had to postpone the presentation next month. Tesla actually preferred to focus on its production delay on the Model X.
