Apple's wireless charging system arrives on automobiles. The Cupertino company has just unveiled the list of car brands that will incorporate the standard compatible with the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X.
A model for each iPhone
Audi, BMW, Chrysler, Ford, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, PSA, Toyota, Volkswagen and Volvo will integrate Apple's Qi wireless charging technology into their car models. The system will be offered as an option to users when the models are delivered and Apple recommends that users make sure of their iPhone model before placing an order. Some car chargers may be incompatible with some iPhone models.
An exception was made for the Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and General Motors brands that have been offering similar technology in their cars for several years. These technologies are incompatible with Apple's new products, according to the announcement of the Apple brand, which states that only the models planned for 2018 of these manufacturers will incorporate technology certified by the Cupertino company. These are the GMC Terrain, Yukon and Sierra, the Chevrolet Bolt, Tahoe, Silverado and Suburban, the Cadillac Escalade and the Buick Enclave.
