The information that Samsung is working on a next flip phone has been online for some time, and some pictures and specifications have even been revealed in recent weeks. Indeed, the successor to last year W2016, W2017 Samsung, was spotted on sites benchmarking and smartphone recently even received FCC approval.
The smartphone might be announced soon in China
SamMobile spotted the Samsung W2017 at the FCC, where the device has received certification. The list shows that the phone under the codename Veyron could be very close to market. For those unfamiliar, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is the body that approves new smartphones before they are officially launched on the market. The next W2017, codenamed Veyron, is rumored to launch in China, but the FCC certification might suggest that the smartphone could be made available to the United States too, but that's just speculation at this point. His predecessor, W2016, was released in China, where Samsung has found a market for flip phones. It is quite uncertain whether the South Korean company will decide to make available to US customers.
Samsung W2017 could come with a battery of 2300mAh
FCC list only provides some information on the upcoming smartphone, mainly that it will come with a battery of 2300mAh with Quick Charge 3.0 to load faster. The smartphone can also run Android 6.0.1 out of the box Marshmallow. Recent reference lists showed that the W2017 has a screen of 4.2 inches Super AMOLED with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. In addition, the smartphone can run one of the newest Qualcomm processor models, the Snapdragon SoC 820. It could also have 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The fingerprint scanner is located at the back of the smartphone, with a heart rate monitor. The capacity of the rear camera could reach 12MP, coupled with a 5MP front camera. The device could come with a USB Type-C and support for Samsung Pay. The smartphone is said to be sold for about 1498 dollars at its output in China.
