Google Duo will replace Hangouts for video calls on Android

Google Duo will replace Hangouts for video calls on Android

The new application of Google Duo Video calling has not exactly turned the smartphone landscape, but you will see more of him in the future. It is added to the Application base package that manufacturers must install on their Android phones to get access to Google Play and other benefits.
Hangouts will not disappear anytime soon

In addition, it replaces Hangouts in this package, and thus become indeed the new default application for video calls on Android. Hangouts is not going away anytime soon since Google itself has said it intends to continue to develop and target the business traveler, but in the future if you buy an Android phone, you'd have to go through the extra step of downloading and installing it.

As reports say, smart phone manufacturers can always choose to include it, although this is unlikely given that many of them have their own flat - mail forms to grow. WhatsApp style Allo, however, has been launched alongside Duo earlier this year, but is not included in the applications of basic package, but Google apparently thinks that video calling is more of a priority for the moment. Or maybe he thinks Allo is still not bright enough. The changes come into effect in early December so that all the brilliant Android handsets launched in 2017 with Duo come on board. By achieving this leading position on Android, Duo will grow and show users how to use the tool for communication, and the fight against competition. As for Hangouts, Google will attempt to recycle and make a business tool as it focuses on a single point, the two most common forms of communication and has the potential to be used as a form of cooperative work.

In short, Duo has won more users, having already surpassed the 10 million installations in the Play Store, and with this promotion the main application on Android, it would thus obtain greater visibility and use.
