Whatsapp is one of the most used applications in the world. However, if it can communicate with loved ones on the other side of the planet, something essential was missing: video calls. This is now possible since the feature is available on Android in beta.
This is the website Android Police who spotted the emergence of video calls over the last beta for Android. It seems that Whatsapp has decided to compete FaceTime, Skype and all the other players who already offer video calls.
The system is fairly simple and similar to what the competition offers. When you decide to make a call, just before the communication is enabled, you are asked to choose between an audio or video call.
The new feature is available for Android Beta. Of course to make a video call with one of your contacts, it must also install the beta. To do this, simply register free of charge to the test program on the Play Store.
