Vine :Twitter buries its video platform

On Thursday, Twitter announced in a blog post the next closing of the Vine video service in the next few months.

Launched in 2013, Vine was the second social network launched by Twitter after the microblogging service before and Periscope. Based on six second videos that run in a loop, the social network has had several blunders, particularly because of adult content, before winning with designers. In YouTube image, some users have been able to build a real community on Vine with their particularly creative videos made possible by the limits of six seconds.

However, Vine was quickly followed by Instagram, which launched its own video loops in service, limited to 15 seconds. Therefore, the platform has gradually been abandoned by users. On Thursday, Twitter has signed the death Vine through a blog post published on the Medium site: "Today we announce that in the coming months we will stop mobile."

For now, the service is still active and by closing Vine allow users to upload their own videos to keep them. Moreover, deleted after the application, it will always be possible to access Vine from the website. Without application, however it will not be possible to post videos on Vine, but simply consult them on the web version of the service.
