Cyberattack: Finger connected cameras pointing

Last Friday, a importantecyberattaque crippled many American websites. Sites such as Spotify, Netflix, Amazon and Twitter were affected. Massive pirating would include connectéss used objects such as surveillance cameras, to spread.
The Chinese company Hangzhou Xiongmai just reminded all cameras installed in the US. Security companies have indeed blamed the Chinese manufacturer and its supposed lack of security. The cyber attack has demonstrated the existence of a big fault in the connected cameras and objects. Xiongmai which has decided to recall its cameras, however, said they did not constitute the majority of cameras involved in the attack.

He is charged cameras and objects connected using passwords and default identifiers in their software. It was then an open door to hackers who have turned these objects connected to botnets to attack Dyn, the SPN US domain provider.

Xiongmai is only one manufacturer among a large group of connected objects providers. We must therefore expect that we talk about this matter for a long time. This attack also reminds us to change the default password if it has never been done.
