Galaxy Note 7: Samsung locks the battery to 60%

Galaxy Note 7: Samsung locks the battery to 60%

33% of smartphones Galaxy Note 7 sold in Europe have still not been returned to the Korean automaker since the announcement of battery problems which ignites due to overheating. That's why Samsung has decided this week to block 60% charge level of the batteries to prevent new problems appear. For this, Samsung will simply activate it remotely locking all the Galaxy Note 7 that always find in the hands of users.

This is probably the best thing to do from Samsung is no doubt that if new battery fires occur and are filmed, it still would sink a little manufacturer in the crisis following this industrial fiasco. Some users might well not return their smartphone, until a battery ignites the film and to take the opportunity to trial the manufacturer. Samsung is therefore everything possible to limit the risks of all kinds.

However, there are tricks to bypass this type of blocking: an option would, for example pushing this battery charging limitation to 80%. This is what has been shown in the United States, first market where Samsung has activated remotely lock it on its Galaxy Note 7 sold. However we do not know if this option will remain available when the lock update will be activated in Europe.
