Facebook is testing a data saver option in Messenger

Facebook is testing a given saver option in Messenger

It has been a while since Facebook has decided to make his Messenger as a standalone application, which means it will use the data as well. The social media company, this time made of the ways to reduce the consumption of mail application data by putting a screen of data on it. It is not yet officially released for everyone, but already in beta testing.
How data save mode work?

The data saving mode in Facebook Messenger will certainly help users to save data by changing the way media content app downloads such as videos and photos. When the function is disabled, all the contents that are shared in the conversation are downloaded automatically regardless of size or if users want to see content or not. This is a nice feature if activated, because that would require users use the material individually to download and view the shared media, saving excessive consumption data.

The application is not for everyone

It is said that the beta includes a counter that indicates the amount of data stored by users when the function is activated. This counter can also be reset to display the exact consumption data would be useful for users who are currently on a monthly data plan. The data saving mode works only when users use mobile data. If the connection to a Wi-Fi network, the Facebook Messenger app automatically return to its default settings. Recently, Facebook Messenger has also been updated and got a new Secret Conversation. This new feature allows users to start an encrypted chat from end to end with other users. The feature is optional, allowing users to choose between friends to start a private conversation with. Secret conversation Facebook Messenger can only be played on one device.

In short, this means that messages sent through the secret conversation function on a desktop computer, are not synchronized to a user's smartphone.
