On Tuesday, a computer engineer had the good surprise to access the internet system of North Korea. He has discovered that the country had only 28 websites. Everyone already knew that the Internet service North Korea was limited. Indeed, not only the political system limits the freedom of expression but most of the population can not afford to access such common became service in the world. However, we had no idea of the number of accessible websites for the country, a number that turns out well in fact low.
An error in the North Korean system
Matt Bryant, a computer engineer discovered by chance North Korea's internet system. Indeed, Korean directors have mistakenly connected all domain names to a misconfigured server. So Matt Bryant was able to access a complete list of domain names that only 28 websites.
Most North Korean websites are quite common. It is among this list the site of the national airline Air Koryo, the university website Kim II Sung and the Communist Party site. There is also the equivalent of Facebook and Yahoo. Do not expect to sign the North Korean web. Since the discovery of the engineer and the massive increase in visits, some of these sites are no longer accessible. Resolving bug is visibly underway in North Korea.
